What is the Green Faces Diet? It’s explained quite simply…..

 THERE ARE 3 RULES:

1) If it’s a green vegetable, you can eat it.

2) If it had a face or would have grown up to have a face (eggs), you can eat it.

3) If it’s not green or didn’t have a face, don’t eat it.

Even though it is very simple, it is not for the faint hearted!!! It’s never going to be convenient and it will never be easy or fun to give up your favorite foods. Just remember that it’s only 21 days of your life!!! (Pretend you’re practicing to be on “Survivor.”) The results will truly amaze you at how quickly the weight falls off in such little time….

 WHAT’S THE POINT?

The GFD accomplishes a few different things.

1) The whole point of the 21-day phase is to completely deplete glycogen in the liver and muscles so the body becomes efficient at burning fat,

2) Breaking sugar and carb addictions,

3) Eliminating foods that commonly cause sensitivities or allergies and becoming aware of them before deciding to integrate them back into your diet.

According to my research, there have been a few different opinions on what foods the GFD allows. Below is the list of foods that I’ve decided on. I also should point out that this list was used by at least a couple clients of mine who experienced great success in rapid weight loss…

 The Greens (carbs):

Eggplant

Squash

 

Broccoli

 

Asparagus

 

Spinach

 

Artichoke

 

Romaine Lettuce

 

Zucchini

 

Brussel Sprouts

 

Cabbage

 

Cucumber

 

Celery

 

Leafy Greens

 

Green Peppers

 

Green Beans

 

Peas

Cauliflower

 

Tomato

Mushrooms

 

Green Beet

Onion

 

 The Faces (protein):

 

Beef

Chicken

 

Duck

 

Kidney

 

Ham

 

Lamb

 

Spare Rib

 

Pork Chop

 

Turkey

Veal

 

Wild Game

 

Shellfish

 

Salmon

 

Tuna

 

Any Fish

 

Eggs

 

Cornish Hen

 

Whey Protein

 

Bacon

 

Fowl

 

Goose

 

  OILS: Use freely

 

Olive

Coconut

Almond

Flax

Peanut

Sesame

Sunflower

Walnut

 

IMPORTANT NOTES:

 NEVER have a carb without a protein (no snacking on veggies without protein – add a hardboiled egg or lean meat)

Limit Caffeine to no more than two cups per day & eat protein when you do

Avoid drinking tap water – Only drink purified water – 8  – 10oz cups a day (Water is the only drink allowed aside from 1 – 2 coffee or green tea servings)

NO nuts, NO fruit, NO dairy, NO avocado, NO alcohol

Do not overcook vegetables or blacken your meat

Have Omega 3 fish oils tablets with every main meal

Have a multi-vitamin in the morning

Eat every 2-3 hours – Make at least 4-5 meals food & 2-3 protein shake snacks

ONLY do Green Faces for 21 days – NO MORE!!

After 21 days, slowly start re-introducing dairy, fruit, nuts, grains and carbs.
